Pupil Premium Strategy
Pupil Premium at Allington with Sedgebrook CE Primary School
The government introduced the Pupil Premium Grant in April 2011, and schools receive additional funding in their budgets to support eligible pupils.
This funding is specifically for children from lower-income families or service families who have registered. The aim is to raise achievement and improve outcomes for these children. Although all children in EYFS and KS1 are entitled to free school meals, it is still essential that families register for Pupil Premium funding, as schools are not automatically informed of entitlement.
At Allington with Sedgebrook, we use this grant in a variety of ways, ensuring it is carefully targeted to help eligible children reach their full potential both academically and socially. Examples of how the funding is used include:
- Teaching Assistant support for individuals, small groups, and classes to boost academic progress.
- Specialist resources to support learning and achievement.
- Non-academic interventions to build self-esteem, social skills, confidence, and positive relationships.
- Subsidies for school uniform, music lessons, extra-curricular activities, trips, and enrichment experiences such as visitors and performers.
